New NEC Regulations for Metal Halide Fixtures

Effective January 1st 2005, National Electric Code (NEC) requires that all Metal Halide HID fixtures must be enclosed (with a lens, diffuser, etc) or incorporate a device ("pink" EX39 socket) that will only allow the use of "O" (open) rated lamps. In compliance with the change to the Metal Halide Lamp Containment requirement 410.73 (F)(5), SIMKAR's affected Metal Halide fixtures will be furnished with lenses, unless specified as "open rated" or specifically requested otherwise.
