SIMKAR's reliable emergency and exit products are now even easier to maintain and cost even less to operate when equipped with our NEW SMART-CHECK, Self-Test/Self-Diagnostic feature. Life safety codes require that a functional test of all emergency lighting systems be conducted monthly and annually. This functional testing can be inconvenient, time-consuming, monopolize occupant time or even require a costly outside service. SIMKAR Exit and Emergency lighting equipped with SMART-CHECK automatically perform the required testing, reducing the lifetime cost of code compliance.

SMART-CHECK, a preprogrammed microcontroller, continuously monitors the unit's operational readiness, automatically performs code mandated, battery discharge testing and communicates service status and alerts via a dual colored LED indicator. SMART-CHECK's vigilant self-diagnostics check the battery, charger, LED clusters, lamp(s) and remote heads for fault without illuminating the lamps or discharging the unit's battery to ensure hat the equipment will function properly when needed. SMART-CHECK's self-testing engine automatically performs the required NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and NEC code compliant testing of 15-minute battery discharge every 30 days and 90-minute full discharge every 12 months. After testing, SMART-CHECK, automatically recharges the unit's battery and an LED indicator light provides a visual display of the test results.
