Philadelphia, PA -January 3, 2000—Designed and built to perform under the most unforgiving circumstances, Simkar Vandgard high-endurance lighting is rustproof, weather proof, tamper proof, impact resistant, and has recently been improved to extend the life of lamps and ballasts.

Vandgard is now manufactured using "A" Rated Marine Grade aluminum, the most corrosion-resistant aluminum available, to ensure longer life and require less maintenance. Aluminum construction offers maximum protection from salt water and all types of weather.

The high quality aluminum fixtures prevent heat buildup, leading to longer ballast life. Aluminum also means Vandgard ballasts cycle less than steel back models, extending lamp life and lowering maintenance costs. Painted parts receive a high-gloss baked enamel finish to ensure superior paint adhesion and rust resistance. A minimum reflectance of 90% is achieved with a post painted powder-coat process.

The range of available wattages in Vandgard fixtures has been expanded and compact fluorescents have been added for applications requiring brighter yet more economical lighting solutions. New models include Quad lamps, HID lamps and a variety of lamping options for T12 and T8 ballasts.
